The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will invest USD150 million in the Singapore-based Keppel-Pierfront Private Credit Fund. The private capital will be used to finance infrastructure projects in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Of the total amount, USD50 million will be in the form of co-investment, allowing AIIB to invest the money into projects alongside the fund rather than through it. The investment bank’s participation in the fund is planned to provide private capital to help medium-sized enterprises in the Asia Pacific infrastructure industry overcome financing constraints. The investment is expected to be approved for financing in June 2021.

The Keppel-Pierfront fund is a private credit fund that focuses on providing tailored loan to organisations or projects in the APAC. The fund mainly focuses on targeted investments in the infrastructure, real estate, transportation as well as energy and natural resources sectors. The fund’s target size is USD600 million.
