Korea Airport Corporation (KAC) has secured a USD100 million contract to conduct a feasibility study for the upgrade of Luang Prabang International Airport (LPQ) in Laos. The airport upgrade involves transitioning the existing airport into a smart facility as well the construction of a cultural centre, a meeting hall, and a hotel.
Once completed, the upgrade is expected to increase international passenger capacity of the LPQ. The project is also a part of the Government of Laos’ overarching target of modernising and extending the capacity and services offered at the country’s airports as part of international integration efforts.
