A joint venture (JV) company comprising the Japan Transport Engineering Company (J-Trec) and Sumitomo Corporation has secured a JPY69.56 billion contract from the Department of Transportation (DoT) to supply commuter train sets for the Malolos–Clark Railway Project and the North–South Railway Project–South Line in the Philippines.
The scope of work includes designing, manufacturing, supplying, delivering, installing, testing, commissioning, integrating, and providing technical support for 38 eight-car train sets.
The contract is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
