Japan-based AI mobility firm mobiAI Incorporation has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Korea’s Ciel Mobility and Indonesia’s PT Jasnita Telekomindo to develop on-demand public transport (DRT) services in Indonesia. The partnership combines mobiAI’s AI and localisation expertise, Ciel Mobility’s DRT platform mobble, and Jasnita’s infrastructure capabilities.
The initiative aims to tackle transportation challenges in Indonesian cities such as traffic congestion and inadequate transit coverage. It includes features like real-time demand prediction, route optimisation, and the use of RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) technology for high-precision location services. Initial deployment will begin in Jakarta, with potential expansion to Surabaya, Bandung, and Depok. The partners are also eyeing future DRT deployments across the ASEAN region.
