PT Mass Rapid Transit Jakarta (MRT Jakarta) has awarded the CP207 Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) contract for Phase 2A of the Jakarta MRT North–South Line to a consortium comprising Hitachi Rail and Sumitomo Corporation. The contract covers the delivery of a new account-based ticketing system to support fare collection and passenger access across the expanding metro network.

Under the agreement, Hitachi Rail will serve as the system integrator and solution provider for the AFC system. The scope includes the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of fare collection infrastructure for seven new stations being developed under Phase 2A of the North–South Line. The project also includes software development and system interface upgrades for the 13 existing stations on the operational Phase 1 section.

The upgraded platform will support integration with external payment gateways and JakLingko, enabling broader payment options and enhancing interoperability across Jakarta’s public transport network. The project forms part of MRT Jakarta’s strategy to advance cashless fare collection and integrated urban mobility services. Phase 2A, financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency, will extend the existing North–South Line further north, increasing network coverage and passenger capacity within the Indonesian capital.
