Jacobs has secured a USD302 million contract to provide consultancy service for the design and construction of the Tavistock Station and its tunnels, under the Cross Island Line (CRL) Phase 1 project in Singapore. Construction for Tavistock station began in May 2022. Additional works will include bored tunnels, launching shafts for tunnel boring equipment and associated building services.

Jacobs will partner with Sato Kogyo to undertake civil, structural and architectural design services, as well as oversee the project’s construction.

The CRL is Singapore’s eighth mass rapid transit (MRT) line, with the longest fully underground network. It was built in three phases. Phase 1 of the rail project consists of 12 stations, with passenger service expected to begin in 2030.
