Ingrid Power Holdings Incorporation, a joint venture (JV) between AC Energy Incorporation and Axia Power Holdings Philippines Corporation, is set to construct a PHP6.875 billion, 150 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) in Pililla, Rizal, Philippines. This project aligns with the Department of Energy’s (DOE) 2019 circular, which provides a framework for integrating energy storage systems (ESS) into the electric power industry to improve electricity quality, reliability, security, and affordability.

The BESS project will utilise lithium-ion battery technology. The containerised lithium-ion batteries offer easy installation and scalability, making them ideal for future expansions. This advanced technology is recognised for its high specific energy, energy density, power, and safety, with minimal environmental impact during both construction and operation.
