Infra Fibre Teknologi (IFT), the digital infrastructure spin-off of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, has launched RAIA Grid, an AI-powered digital infrastructure platform designed to create an open-access digital highway across Indonesia.
IFT operates more than 86,000 km of fibre infrastructure, including backbone, domestic subsea and access networks. The company will leverage this existing infrastructure as part of the RAIA Grid platform.
RAIA Grid will embed Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Agentic AI into infrastructure planning, deployment and operations. The platform is intended to support intelligent network planning and demand forecasting, optimise fibre routes and investment decisions, automate deployment, and enable predictive maintenance and more autonomous network operations.
The platform is designed to support 5G, fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and data centre-to-data centre (DC-to-DC) connectivity. Its open-access model will serve telecommunications operators, data centres, cloud providers, hyperscalers and enterprises.
IFT said RAIA Grid will also complement Indosat’s Zankore by Indosat data centre initiative, which targets up to 1 GW of AI data centre capacity in partnership with Ooredoo Group, Nokia and Nvidia. The initiative is aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s digital infrastructure by connecting data centres, cloud platforms, businesses and AI infrastructure through a nationwide fibre network.
