Infra Fiber Teknologi (IFT), the digital infrastructure company formed after Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s fibre business spin-off, has introduced RAIA Grid, a new platform aimed at building an AI-enabled digital connectivity backbone across Indonesia.
The platform will incorporate machine learning, AI and Agentic AI into the way digital infrastructure is planned, deployed and managed. Its applications include forecasting network demand, improving fibre-route planning, optimising infrastructure investments, automating deployment and carrying out predictive maintenance.
IFT currently manages more than 86,000 km of fibre networks across Indonesia, comprising backbone, domestic subsea and access infrastructure. RAIA Grid will build on this network through an open-access model supporting 5G, fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and data centre-to-data centre (DC-to-DC) connectivity.
The platform will be available to telecom operators, data centres, cloud companies, hyperscalers and enterprises, providing infrastructure for the movement of data and digital services across the country.
The initiative will also support Indosat’s Zankore by Indosat data centre programme, which is targeting up to 1 GW of AI data centre capacity. The combined infrastructure is intended to connect data centres, cloud platforms, businesses and AI systems while supporting Indonesia’s growing digital economy.
