Indonesia’s Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) Construction Project has won the MEGA Project Award at the FIDIC Asia-Pacific Awards 2025, presented during the FIDIC Asia Pacific (FAP) Conference in Bali. Oriental Consultants Global Company Limited (OC Global) played a key role in the project, providing detailed design review and construction supervision services.
The Jabodebek LRT was launched to address severe traffic congestion and transport-related pollution in Jakarta. Designated as a national strategic project by President Joko Widodo, construction began in 2015 and the system opened on August 28, 2023. The line features ten long-span bridges, including the Kuningan Bridge, which at 148 metres is considered the world’s longest railway bridge span.
The project has earned international recognition for its scale and impact, having previously won the 2022 ACECC Civil Engineering Project Award and the 2023 Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) Award.
