Indonesia’s National Economic Council (DEN) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed a Statement of Intent (SoI) to accelerate the country’s digital transformation through the Digital Nusantara initiative. The collaboration supports President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to modernize public services via a unified national digital infrastructure, beginning with social protection delivery.
The initiative centers on building a secure, scalable, and interoperable Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), aiming to streamline government services, improve accountability, and reduce bureaucratic delays. UNDP will provide technical and strategic advisory support to help establish the unified system and enable better coordination among ministries. With over 200 million mobile internet users and a booming digital economy, the shift is expected to enhance service access, enable data-driven policymaking, and support Indonesia’s inclusive growth goals.
