Indonesia’s Ministry of Transportation has shared an update on the North Bali Airport project, reaffirming its alignment with President Prabowo Subianto’s goal to promote equitable development and enhance national connectivity. The project, classified as strategic infrastructure, aims to balance Bali’s economic activity and tourism growth between the island’s northern and southern regions.
The project’s location was revised from Kubutambahan Village to Sumberklampok Village, as proposed by the Bali Governor in 2020. Lukman noted that the land at the new site is free of disputes, with the provincial government guaranteeing its security to prevent future disruptions.
The ministry will continue monitoring compliance throughout each construction stage. Once operational, the North Bali Airport is expected to complement I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, strengthening air connectivity and supporting tourism and economic activities across the island.
