International Container Terminal Services Incorporated (ICTSI) has partnered with PLDT Incorporated and its subsidiary Smart Communications Incorporated to operate the Philippines’ first 5G-enabled smart port at the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT). The MICT will be the first port in the Philippines to implement 5G technology. The system is expected to improve freight flow efficiency and optimization.
With 34 container ports in 20 countries, ICTSI is one of the world’s major container terminal operators. In recent years, the corporation has implemented a variety of Internet of Things solutions in its operations and administration.
