The Hutchison Port Holdings Trust, Hutchison Ports Yantian, has won the “Best Green Container Terminal Award” at the 2022 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) awards ceremony for the third time in four years. The nomination and voting for the winners take place by 15,000 readers and subscribers of Asia Cargo news. Yantian has been a leader in green port development,which uses sustainable technologies to deliver operational efficiency, environment conservation and social responsibility. With carbon emission intensity being one of the important parameters for the green transformation, Yantian has been able to achieve a 15 per cent reduction in 10 years from 2012 onwards while it has witnessed a growth of 33 per cent in its overall container throughput.
