Hydrogène de France (HDF Energy) and the Philippines’ Department of Transportation (DOTr) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance green hydrogen infrastructure and hydrogen-powered transport. The partnership, witnessed by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), will support the deployment of HDF’s Renewstable hybrid power plants across the Philippines, combining renewable energy with green hydrogen storage to deliver continuous baseload power and fuel maritime vessels and locomotives.
The agreement marks a key milestone in the Philippines’ energy transition, with plans to develop up to 15 Renewstable plants worth around USD1.5 billion. HDF Energy, which previously signed an MoU with the Department of Energy in 2024, will work with Philippine agencies to support renewable energy generation, infrastructure development, and decarbonization of the maritime and rail sectors.
