HDF Energy, a global leader in hydrogen power technology, and Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC), a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop green hydrogen power projects targeting remote southern islands of Vietnam. The agreement, signed during French President Macron’s visit to Hanoi, aims to replace unreliable and polluting diesel generators with clean, stable, 24/7 hydrogen-based electricity, supporting sustainable development for island communities.

HDF Energy’s Renewstable® power plants combine solar energy with on-site green hydrogen storage and fuel cells to provide continuous, clean power. Through this collaboration, HDF Energy and EVNSPC will conduct technical studies, engage local authorities, and share knowledge to create scalable hydrogen energy solutions. Both parties emphasised the partnership’s role in accelerating Vietnam’s energy transition and enhancing energy independence in underserved regions.
