Vietnam-based electric mobility company Green GSM has launched its all-electric taxi service in Davao City, marking its first expansion outside Metro Manila and introducing zero-emission taxis to one of Mindanao’s largest urban centres.
The service operates a fleet of fully electric VinFast Nerio Green vehicles and employs full-time salaried drivers, offering bookings via a mobile app, hotline, designated pick-up points, and street hailing in key commercial areas. Pricing is displayed transparently through the digital platform, while drivers receive fixed salaries and benefits rather than operating under traditional boundary-based models.
Green GSM said the Davao launch aligns with the city’s focus on public safety, environmental protection, and reliable transport as urban growth and travel demand increase. The company said it plans to work closely with local authorities and communities to support Davao’s long-term urban mobility and sustainability objectives, while continuing its national expansion of electric transport services in the Philippines.
