The Ministry of Transportation, Indonesia, is planning to build and develop four airports in West Papua – Rendani Manokwari airport, Siboru Fakfak airport, Raja Ampat airport and Domine Edward Osok Sorong airport. The Raja Ampat and Siboru airports are expected to be operational by 2020 and 2023 respectively. Besides, land clearing for Rendani Manokwari Airport is expected to commence in 2020, while the project is expected to be completed in 2021. The Sorong airport project primarily requires the development of airport facilities and extension of the runway.
