The GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) a JV between GMR Infrastructure Limited and Megawide Construction Corporation, has opened the new terminal T2 at the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) in the Philippines. The $600 million project is part of the first ‘airport resort’ in the world that GMR-Megawide has been managing since 2015 after winning the concession agreement. GMCAC took over the operations of MCIA from November 1, 2014, and is responsible for the construction, development, renovation, expansion and operation of the airport for a period of 25 years. With the opening of the new terminal, the total capacity of the MCIA has expanded from 4.5 million passengers per annum (mppa) to 12.5 mppa.
