Globe Telecom has won in the ASEAN Best Practices for Energy Efficient Buildings (EEB) category at the ASEAN Energy Awards 2025, becoming the only Filipino company recognised in the segment. The award was presented in Kuala Lumpur and acknowledges Globe’s deployment of advanced energy efficiency technologies across its operations.

The company was cited for its Chiller Optimisation (EDD-RT) project at the Valero Telepark facility, which uses external digital demand-response technology to optimise cooling systems and reduce energy consumption while maintaining operational requirements. According to the Department of Energy, Globe was named winner in the Energy Efficient Building – Special Submissions (Cutting-Edge Technology) category for improving energy performance through advanced system enhancements.

Globe’s decarbonisation strategy combines energy-saving innovations with increased renewable energy adoption. As of November 2025, 37 major facilities, including data centres and offices, are powered through Renewable Energy Power Purchase Agreements under the government’s Retail Competition and Open Access and Green Energy Option Program. The company also plans to transition over 3,000 cell sites to renewable sources by 2028 under the Retail Aggregation Program, supporting its target of a 42 per cent emissions reduction by 2030 and long-term net zero ambitions.
