Gaon Cable has secured its first order from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) to supply distribution cables worth KRW60 billion for an MRT power grid construction project in Singapore. The order follows the company’s registration as an LTA vendor in 2025 and provides a reference project for further public distribution infrastructure opportunities in the country.

The cables will be supplied for the MRT power grid construction project. Singapore plans to expand its MRT network from approximately 240 km to more than 360 km by the early 2030s, while also replacing power equipment on existing lines, supporting continued demand for distribution cables.

The order forms part of Gaon Cable’s broader expansion into railway and distribution infrastructure markets in Southeast Asia. The company is also pursuing overseas opportunities in the United States and Asia, including a recent direct supply contract with a US global technology company’s power plant and orders for AI data centre-related products through its subsidiary LSCUS in cooperation with LS Cable & System.
