Lau Soon Liang has been appointed as the new president and chief executive officer of FWD Philippines, FWD Group, effective June 1, 2025, pending regulatory approval. He succeeds Antonio De Rosas, who will transition into an advisory role within the company.
Liang currently serves as Chief Growth Officer for Southeast Asia at FWD Group and has been with the insurer since 2016. He is a Fellow of the UK’s Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. In his new role, Liang will be tasked with steering FWD Philippines’ next growth phase and expanding its customer-led insurance and financial solutions.
FWD Philippines began operations in 2014 and maintains a bancassurance partnership with Security Bank. It is part of FWD Group, which operates in 10 Asian markets and serves approximately 30 million customers.
