ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), the retail electricity arm of Ayala-led ACEN, has received the 2025 Renewable Energy Markets™ (REM) Asia Award for its leadership in expanding renewable energy use in the Philippines. Presented by the US-based Centre for Resource Solutions, the award recognises organisations that significantly contribute to market development and clean energy transition across Asia. ACEN RES was honoured during a ceremony at Sofitel Singapore City Centre, with Managing Director Miguel de Jesus accepting the award.
The recognition highlights ACEN RES’s role in helping Philippine businesses adopt renewables through initiatives such as the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA), and the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP). The company commands a 50% market share under GEOP, according to the Energy Regulatory Commission’s 2025 Competitive Retail Electricity Market report. In 2024 alone, ACEN RES helped avoid nearly 1 million tons of CO₂ emissions through renewable supply. This award adds to the firm’s growing accolades for sustainability and marketing excellence, including Stevie and Anvil awards.
