The first turbine has been erected at the Vinh Long V1-5 and V1-6 Phase II intertidal nearshore wind project in Vietnam. Energy China GEDI is the EPC contractor. The project is located in an intertidal zone with a water depth of around three metres, requiring installation activities to be coordinated with tidal conditions due to restrictions on the use of large wind turbine installation vessels.

The project comprises 16 EN226-8 MW wind turbines with a combined capacity of 128 MW. Once operational, it is expected to generate approximately 400 GWh of renewable electricity annually, making it Vietnam’s largest single-unit nearshore wind farm.
