FGEN LNG Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of First Gen Corporation, has signed a 10-year deal with Denmark-based Svitzer for supply of towage and other vessel support services to the Interim Offshore LNG Terminal Project in Batangas City.

Svitzer will supply four new 75-ton bollard pull tug vessels with Lloyd’s Register Class Notation to support the project’s floating storage regasification unit (FSRU). It will also provide LNG carriers to call at FSRU for berthing and un-berthing, navigation assistance, and other services.

The LNG terminal is key in ensuring stable supply to the Luzon Grid, especially as the Malampaya gas reserves are close to being depleted.
