The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced plans to finalise the feasibility study for the PHP100.64 billion Mindanao Railway Project (MRP) Phase 3 by the first quarter of 2025. Covering a 54.8 km inter-city passenger and cargo railway system in Metro Cagayan de Oro, the study evaluates project alignment, costs, and economic impact.
The railway aims to connect key industrial hubs in northern Mindanao, linking Laguindingan Airport, Cagayan de Oro Port, and nearby commercial areas. The project also supports broader connectivity across Mindanao’s major cities.
