Ireka Corporation Bhd (Ireka) has secured a two-year engineering contract, worth RM196 million, for a Fibre-To-The-Home connectivity project in Kedah, Malaysia. The contract was awarded by Fec Telco, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wanland Metro Sdn Bhd. The project will be executed in two phases.

The first phase will involve the civil works component which will include supply and installation of fibre-optic cables, auxiliary equipment, pole installations and commissioning works. The second phase of work will include the development of the network, IT, and services components. This phase will include works on the design and operations of the Fibre-To-The-Home network, business systems support, operation support system and over-the-top services to targeted end-users.
