Jacques Boonen has been appointed managing director of Local Energy Infrastructures for ENGIE in Southeast Asia, succeeding Pierre Cheyron.

Boonen will work alongside Varun Gujral, country manager for Southeast Asia and CEO of Supply & Energy Management APAC. He joined ENGIE in 2008 and has extensive experience in strategy and sustainable transformation, having held senior leadership roles in France, Belgium, and North America, including chief strategy and innovation officer for ENGIE France Renewables and CEO of ENGIE Impact.

His appointment follows Cheyron’s transition to the role of vice president, Marketing & Sales, Local Energy Infrastructures at the Group level, and is expected to support ENGIE’s growth and sustainable energy initiatives in the region.
