The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has announced plans to develop its third Hydro-Floating Solar Hybrid project at Srinagarind Dam. This 140 MW project aims to enhance clean energy generation and support Thailand’s carbon neutrality goals.

The project aligns with Thailand’s targets of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero emissions (NZE) by 2065, and it is expected to begin commercial operations by 2026. As part of the Power Development Plan (PDP2018 Revision 1), EGAT plans to develop similar projects at nine dams, targeting a total capacity of 2,725 MW.

Additionally, EGAT has also commenced the bidding process for the Srinagarind Dam project, with bidding documents available until July 3, 2024, and bid openings scheduled for August 14, 2024.
