The Laos Xekong 4 Power Company Limited (XK4) and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) have jointly signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the Xekong 4A and 4B Hydroelectric Power Project in Laos. The project will be located on the Xekong River in Xekong province.
As per the agreement, EGAT will purchase all electricity generated by the project till 2060 upon commencement of its commercial operations in 2033. Construction works are expected to commence in 2025, with two proposed dams, Xekong 4A and Xekong 4B.
