EDP Renewables(EDPR) has secured a 20-year contract to deploy and operate up to 174 MW solar distributed generation (DG) capacity under the SolarNova programme – Solar Nova phase 8, in Singapore. The scope of the contract includes EDPR to install solar DG systems on the rooftops of public buildings.
EDPR aims to provide a minimum tender capacity of 130 MWp, with the potential to reach 200 MWp of solar capacity. The project will involve installing over 320,000 solar panels across 1,075 Singapore public housing buildings and 101 government-owned buildings, including 55 public schools. Construction works are scheduled to commence in 2024.
