Energy Development Corporation (EDC) has secured a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) from One Bohol Power Distribution (1BP) to supply power to the province of Bohol in the Philippines. Under the PPA, the company will commence the supply of 50.83 MW of electricity in 2024, sourced from the Unified Leyte geothermal power plant.

As a backup power source, EDC will also build an 85 MW diesel-fired power plant.

The supply of renewable energy (RE) from EDC’s geothermal facility will offset around 312,355 to 524,757 tons of carbon emissions from traditional coal-fired power plants.
