Cambodia’s state-owned Electricite du Cambodgeked and the China National Heavy Machinery Corporation have signed a contract to mark the start of a national grid 230 kV power transmission and transformation project and to build two more transformer substations and a 230 kV power transmission line in Cambodia. The transmission line will span 275 km. The estimated cost of the project is $123 million and will be completed in three months. The completion of the project will greatly enhance power transmission capacity in Cambodia and make the country less dependent on imported electricity. The project will also ensure low-cost and stable energy supplies in the country.
