Thailand-based operator DTAC has commercially launched 4G services using spectrum in the 2100 MHz band in Bangkok. The operator has set up 300 base transceiver stations to offer these services in Silom, Sathorn, Rama 4, Sukhumvit, Rama 9, Ratchada, etc. DTAC is offering 4 GB of free data usage for four months under an introductory offer. The spectrum being used to offer 4G services is also being employed for 3G services. The operator is now waiting for the allocation of technology-neutral spectrum in the 1800 MHz band before expanding its 4G network.
