Dr N. Sitthiphong resigned as director and chairman of the board of PTT Public Company Limited, effective February 1, 2013, due to “his additional business engagement”. This is the second time he has resigned as chairman of the company, the first time being in December 2010; he resumed the post shortly thereafter in July 2011.
At present, Sitthiphong is permanent secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Thailand. He is also chairman of a number of firms including Thai Oil Public Company Limited and PTT Exploration and Production Plc. Sitthiphong has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He obtained his master’s degree in the same subject and a doctorate in Management Engineering from Oregon State University in the US.
