DOTC is planning to bid out the construction, operation, and maintenance contract of the proposed Sasa wharf at Davao port during the first quarter of 2014. The PhP 4.04 billion project falls under the government’s public–private partnership (PPP) scheme. The government is aiming to increase the capacity of Davao port in Mindanao from the current level of 700,000 TEUs to 1.2 million TEUs over the next five years, based on estimates from the Philippine Ports Authority.
