The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has made a few modifications to the contract for the PhP 2.5 billion Southwest Terminal project. The move comes in response to the commercial and technical matters raised by the prospective bidders during the second round of meetings with DOTC. The amendments have been submitted to the National Economic and Development Authority for approval. The Southwest Terminal that will be located at the Coastal Road Terminal along the Manila–Cavite Expressway aims to connect Cavite to other transport systems, such as the future light rail transit (LRT) Line 1 South Extension, city bus, taxi, and other public utility vehicles in Manila. The project will be implemented on a BOT basis with a 35-year contract period.
