DOTC has earmarked PhP 206 million for the upgrade of the Kalibo International Airport (KIA), which serves as an alternative gateway to Boracay. The project entails the construction of taxiways and installation of floodlights. The project also involves extension and expansion of the runway, provision of additional apron space, roads, and construction of a new passenger terminal building. Under the plan, the proposed new terminal building will be relocated for better access to the Kalibo circumferential road while additional parking bays will accommodate more aircraft. KIA is one of two airports serving Boracay. Diversified conglomerate San Miguel Corporation operates the Godofredo P. Ramos Airport in Caticlan.
