The Philippines’ Department of Finance (DoF) has approved the revised contract between the government and the San Miguel Corporation for developing and implementing the guidelines of the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT 7) project. The project involves the construction of a 22 km rail line (with 14 stations) that extends from the corner of North Avenue and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan. It will be linked with MRT Line 3 and LRT Line 1 through a common station in North Avenue. In July 2012, the DoF had asked San Miguel to seek the approval of NEDA again, after the company had failed to complete the financial closure for the project by December 2010.
