The Department of Energy (DOE) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) have formalised a key data-sharing agreement to enhance regulatory efficiency and evidence-based policymaking in the Philippines’ energy sector.
The agreement’s role in building a more responsive and inclusive energy system, while ERC Chairperson Monalisa Dimalanta noted its value in improving regulatory assessments and reducing administrative burdens on stakeholders. The partnership covers various sector operations, including power generation, grid development, and off-grid electrification.
Strict data governance protocols are included to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and efficient information flow—supporting programs like ER 1-94 and reinforcing the country’s commitment to reliable and affordable energy access.
