The Department of Energy (DOE) has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to advance renewable energy (RE) research and development (R&D) in the Philippines.
This agreement utilises the Renewable Energy Trust Fund (RETF) mandated by Republic Act No. 9513 or the Renewable Energy Act 2008. The MOA is facilitated by the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), and will focus on joint research initiatives to enhance the affordability and efficiency of RE technologies and emerging technologies.
