DCI Indonesia, a data centre infrastructure provider, has opened a new data centre in West Java with a total power capacity of 15 MW. The new facility located in Cibitung is its fourth data centre out of an intended fleet of up to 15 centres. The total power capacity across all four centres has risen to 37 MW with the recent addition.
The new data centre facility, named JK5, was developed to align with the Government of Indonesian’s ‘Making Indonesia 4.0’ initiative. The initiative aims to assist the long-term expansion of the country’s digital economy, which is estimated to reach USD130 billion in market value by 2025. In line with the government’s scheme, DCI plans to construct up to 15 data centre buildings with a total capacity of 300 MW, all of which will be outfitted with internationally accredited infrastructure.
