The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has allocated a budget of PHP2.2 billion to finance the Department of Energy’s (DOE) projects during 2023. Some of the key programs include the Total Electrification Project (TEP), Renewable Energy Development Program, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Program, and Alternative Fuels and Technologies Program.

Out of the total allocation, around PHP500 million will be used to power around 10,000 households in the Philippines under the TEP while another PHP476 million has been earmarked to fund DOE’s Renewable Energy Development Program, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Program, and Alternative Fuels and Technologies Program.

These projects are crucial to attain the Government of Philippines’ goal of ensuring the availability of reliable and sustainable energy throughout the country.
