The China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) Qingdao Sifang has secured a CNY 2.51 billion contract to supply a fleet of 11 eight-car trains for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail (HSR) line. The contract is part of an EPC contract awarded to the High Speed Railway Contract Consortium (HSRCC) by the Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC) joint venture (JV). The HSR line will span 142.4 km and is scheduled to be completed by 2019. The project cost of $5.5 billion will be funded by the China Development Bank (75 per cent) and KCIC (25 per cent). In March 2016, KCIC and HSRCC signed a 50-year design-build-maintain-operate concession contract. The KCIC JV has also signed an EPC contract with HSRCC for the Jakarta-Bandung HSR line. HSRCC comprises China Railway International Company Limited (40 per cent) and Indonesia-based Wijaya Karya, Jasa Marga and PT KAI (60 per cent).
