China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) has announced plans to expand its investments in Cambodia, targeting transport infrastructure, digital infrastructure, renewable energy and integrated investment, construction and operation projects. The announcement was made during a meeting in Beijing between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and CRCC Chairman Dai Hegen, who outlined the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the country.
CRCC has been operating in Cambodia since 2008 and has completed several major infrastructure projects, including the Battambang water supply system, the Cambodia Sports Village, the Ministry of National Defence administrative building and the Cambodia–China Friendship Thbong Khmum Hospital. Looking ahead, the company intends to pursue new investments in transport infrastructure, digital systems and green energy as part of its long-term expansion strategy in Cambodia.
CRCC’s investment plans, stating that transport infrastructure remains a priority for the Cambodian government. While highlighting the country’s progress in developing road and waterway networks over the past two decades, he emphasised that railway modernisation is now a key focus of the government’s infrastructure agenda. The Prime Minister encouraged CRCC to work closely with relevant ministries and government agencies to advance the proposed investments into implementable projects.
