Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction to complete a feasibility study to enable the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway project to begin in December 2025.
The Ministry of Construction to coordinate with the Ministry of Science and Technology to finalize project standards and regulations by next month. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has also been tasked with addressing land use, forestry, and environmental issues tied to the development.
Funding for the project will be arranged through a mix of public investment and loans. The new line is positioned as a strategic project to strengthen connectivity between the northern border, Hanoi, and the Hai Phong port city, supporting trade and regional development.
