The construction of the Thuan An Bridge, central Vietnam’s longest sea-crossing bridge, has reached completion and is expected to receive technical traffic clearance by September 2025. Spanning 2.36 km over the Thuan An sea gate in Hue City, the bridge is part of a broader 22 km coastal infrastructure project. Built with reinforced and prestressed concrete, the bridge features a hybrid beam-cable design with a 218-meter main span and a 40-meter height, supporting four lanes of traffic.
Launched in March 2022 with an investment of VND2.4 trillion, the bridge is a key component of the city’s coastal road strategy. It is expected to boost regional connectivity, economic development, and tourism. Once fully operational by the end of 2025, it will enhance transport along the North-South corridor and open up over 1,500 hectares of land for urban expansion and investment.
