The Techo International Airport (TIA), located south of Phnom Penh, is expected to open in July 2025, following a final readiness review in Cambodia. Government and project officials confirmed that construction is now 96 percent complete. The USD1.5 billion airport, a joint venture between the Government of Cambodia and the Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation, spans 2,600 hectares and is built to ICAO Level 4F standards, enabling it to handle large aircraft like the Airbus A380.
With a focus on technical compliance and certification, the final review addressed infrastructure, system installations, and logistics. Once operational, TIA is expected to serve as a major hub for tourism and trade in the region. Its launch comes amid a strong aviation recovery, with Cambodia’s existing airports handling 6.2 million passengers in 2024.
