Construction work on the Cua Luc 1 bridge, connecting the northern and southern parts of Ha Long City in Quang Ninh province, began on April 28, 2020. The project, which entails an investment of around VND 2.1 trillion, is being funded by Quang Ninh’s Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Projects. The 290 metre long and 33.1 metre steel arch bridge will have six lanes with a speed limit of 60 kmph. The construction project will also include several accompanying items including intersections, sewers, sidewalks, lighting systems and others. The project is scheduled for completion in 2022. It will help in easing the overload on the Bai Chay bridge and ensure smooth traffic even during rainy weather.
