The Ministry of Transportation (MoT) of Indonesia has commenced construction works on the first phase of the Solo-Semarang double-track railway. This phase involves works on the first 10 km of the railway of which 1.8 km will be constructed above ground.

The Solo Balapan – Kalioso double-track project is expected to cost around IDR920 billion and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2023.
